White Rock
White Rock is an active seaside community which sits on the Semiahmoo Bay just north of the Canada/US border (Semiahmoo is the Coast Salish native peoples word for half-moon). White Rock features 8 kilometers of beautiful beaches, including West Beach, East Beach, and Crescent Beach. White Rock beaches accommodate a variety of activities such as: sunbathing, swimming, kayaking, sailing, beach combing and crab fishing. White Rock’s most famous beach is probably White Rock beach, which features a 1,500 ft. long “heritage” pier, a 2.5km long promenade, an assortment of sidewalk cafés and shops, and the 486 ton “white rock”, which is a glacial deposit that migrated south during the last glaciation.
